About the job

This is a development-security-operation role for a self-motivated individual with excellent Development-Security-Operations and Platform Reliability Engineer to provide support and analysis on occurring issues in our product development efforts. Primary responsibilities are to give solutions to bugs, improve performance and reliability matrix, and provide emergency response on critical issues faced by customers while using the product. You will also be responsible for testing new product deployment and maintenance.

  • Develop, test, and debug automated tasks.

  • Troubleshoot priority incidents, facilitate blameless post-mortems

  • Work with development teams throughout the software life cycle ensuring sustainable software releases

  • Perform analytics on previous incidents and usage patterns to better predict issues and take proactive actions

  • Build and drive adoption for greater self-healing and resiliency patterns

  • Lead and participate in performance tests; identify bottlenecks, opportunities for optimization, and capacity demands

  • Participate in tech support.

Responsibilities

  • As one of our DevSecOps Engineers your primary role will be providing Security Governance and Optimisation for our products.

  • You will provide advice on security best practices, and guide product development team in developing, adopting and enforcing security and access policies appropriate to their cloud platforms of choice.

  • You will provide vulnerability assessments of product’s cloud assets, deliver remediation recommendations, and provide knowledgeable assistance in resolving identified vulnerabilities.

  • You will be actively involved in setting up and continuous improvement of our governance platform and tooling, by providing input into the direction of roadmap and contributing to the development of our tooling.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering or a related subject

  • Technical understanding and demonstrable experience of cloud engineering specifically in the development of applications and solutions that provide security controls.

  • 5+ years of systems operation / administration

  • 5+ years of application development

  • Deep understanding of network, storage and virtualization concepts and technologies.

  • Strong experience with enterprise security concepts including network security lists, disk encryption and endpoint security technologies.

  • Strong and hands-on experience/knowledge in the following or similar areas:

  • Automation development experience

  • Programming in Python, JavaScript or PHP, shell script

  • Development tools, language features and library availability

  • Automation deployment and configuration management tools 

  • (Chef, Salt, Ansible, and/or Puppet, etc.)

  • Linux, Redhat, or Fedora platforms

  • Git, SVN, or similar version control experience

  • SQL schema design experience with MySQL, Oracle, or Postgres

  • TCP/IP (ipv4 and ipv6) networking and related protocols

  • Multi-platform workstation – Windows/Mac/Linux

  • Agile and waterfall project methodologies

  • Coach team to adopt a DevSecOps mindset and inculcate DevSecOps culture.

  • Problem solving skills to learn new technical and non-technical analysis techniques to overcome problems.

  • Ability to identify and implement both tactical and strategic solutions.

  • Demonstrated knowledge (API) of AWS, Azure or Google cloud services.

  • Ability to work independently and engage individuals and teams located across multiple geographies and or cultures.

  • Strong written and verbal communications and presentation skills.
