Responsibilities
The Pre-sales Manager will take full accountability for self and the pre-sales associates (team), in meeting individual (self) and team targets across all or identified business activities of the company.
Work with management to identify and strategize on key markets, company offerings, positioning, pitch and refine all pre-sales tasks and activities from time to time.
Strategize with management to define top-down and bottom-up approach from time to time and perform tasks and activities by self and assist the team accordingly.
The target will be a combination of generating qualified leads and actual revenue (USD) on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis for self and team.
Interview, hire, train and mentor associates (team), including managing their team morale, individual motivation and performance (targets). Conduct team’s quarterly and annual performance review (QPR etc.) as a way to provide reflective feedback as well as set individual goals and growth/career path.
Manage self and team’s alignment with company and business goals, ethics, values and policies at all times.
Perform individually as well as manage team in the following daily/regular tasks –
Perform internet research of target segments and build and maintain database of relevant contacts (key decision makers) on CRM. Identify relevant fit with company’s offerings and the client prospect’s needs.
Make introductory cold calls and follow-up calls to client prospects as a way to start a pre-sales or sales dialog, set-up pre-scheduled appointments.
Contact prospects via LinkedIn and other social media tools to engage with them in all appropriate channels and initiate a pre-sales or sales dialog, set-up pre-scheduled appointments.
Setup scheduled conference calls/zoom meetings and drive the introductory conversation, including making a first level presentation of the company, understanding the prospect’s business and needs and determining fit for next steps and follow-up. Involve senior sales team or Management on pre-scheduled calls or meetings with high value client prospects i.e. Large or important company, senior executive (CXO, VP etc.) or identified high value project/opportunities.
Develop and maintain a strong sales pipeline at all times, using a mix of email, social and outbound calling activities.
Perform industry research, competitor research and keep abreast of industry news, trends and thought leader updates regularly.
Meet and exceed individual and team targets for generating qualified leads.
Requirements
Minimum experience of 2 years in the above job description with team handling and achieving self and team targets is a must.
Minimum experience of 4 years as a high rated self-performer in conducting all pre-sales activities, including demonstrated success from email campaigns and outbound cold calls with key influencers or decision makers is a must.
Demonstrated Pre-sales and/or sales success in eLearning, L&D, Education technology custom services for Corporate/Workforce training and/or Academia (K12, Higher-Ed, Publishers) is a must.
Presentable, personable and with very good etiquette.
Good understanding of IT/ITES sales and solutions (how software works!). Comfortable in understanding the concepts of cloud, licensing, subscription, SaaS models etc. in selling IT services.
Excellent verbal and written English skills for markets, where English is a first language.
Must be driven, extremely disciplined, innovative and possess excellent attention to detail.
Must be a stickler for processes on self and team.
Should have the ability to understand the client’s needs and present suitable solutions swiftly.
Candidate must be ready to work in early morning or late evening shift (depending on geography identified). A standard 9 hours (with break) workday can range anytime in between 8am IST to 10pm IST depending on the shift and market identified.
